This week, we learned about the Islamic festival of Eid ul-Fitr. We now know that this translates into English as ‘the festival of the breaking of the fast’ because it is the celebration that follows Ramadan, the month of fasting. We watched a video of a family reflecting during Ramdan and preparing for Eid. Children shared their plans for Eid, including seeing family, eating delicious food and exchanging gifts. Then we discovered all the different sweet treats that are prepared around the world in different countries to celebrate Eid. Finally, we had a quiz to check our understanding. Eid Mubarak to all our children and families celebrating.
