On Wednesday 18th October, our Safer Schools Officer PCSO Luke Oxley came to talk to our KS2 pupils about firework safety. Sadly, every year many people are injured by fireworks so West Yorkshire Police and West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue are working together to educate the community about the dangers of messing around with fireworks. The children learnt about how the emergency services respond to situations involving fireworks and heard from people working for the ambulance, police and fire teams.
One of our school values is ‘responsibility’ and we know that fireworks are extremely dangerous and must only be used safely by trusted grown-ups.
